Lyndoch is a public aged care facility located in Warrnambool which provides bed based services and day programs. This redevelopment project (Stage 2) comprised a total refurbishment of Level 3 (Swinton Wing) to accommodate 60 beds and a new building (Lake Lodge) to accommodate 45 beds, including a dementia wing. The Level 3 refurbishment of a 1960’s building has two wings providing a mix of single and two bedrooms, all with ensuites, together with communal spaces for each wing. The elevated nature of Level 3 also resulted in views over the Hopkins River from the lounge areas which also have a secure balcony. The new single storey Lake Lodge comprised 3 bedroom wings of 15 beds each. All had access to central communal spaces which lead on to secure courtyards. ! BHA won an Aged Care Victoria design award for the interior design of the Level 3 refurbishment. |
