Coburg Senior High School was established as a new school on the site of the former Moreland City College.  The first stage of a 3-stage project was completed for the commencement of the 2007 school year, Stage 2 is currently being undertaken. The School was established as a specialist 10-12 campus with a provision to accommodate a Year 13 and 14 which would enable students to have additional time to complete VCE.

The Project was initiated by a Steering Committee with a preferred design brief that would facilitate:

• Science, Technology and Design
• Performing Arts, including Music, Dance and Performance
• Visual Arts including Studio Arts and Multi-Media
• Themed VCAL
• Industry related VET programs

Included in the new facility are:

• Large, open, flexible learning areas which allow for the provision of class/group areas, presentation space, studios
• A Lecture Theatre, Performing Arts Centre, which has a design and construction studio attached
• Instrumental music practice rooms and laboratories
• Specialist Science/Technology rooms are attached to the large, open, flexible learning areas on the first floor
• Student recreation lounge café
• Enclosed multi-function spaces for meeting areas and private study
• Integration of staff work areas with learning areas.
